Verizon’s prepaid subsidiary Visible is now allowing customers to make an unlimited amount of calls to residents of several international countries, making it one of the few prepaid services to offer global calling as part of a customer’s subscription.

On Tuesday, executives said customers can now make phone calls to Canada, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Mexico and Puerto Rico as part of their service

Other prepaid services, including Metro by T-Mobile and AT&T’s Cricket Wireless, also offer international calling to subscribers, though the feature typically requires an additional charge or a subscription to a pricier tier of service.

Visible, on the other hand, has just one tier of service: A $40 a month plan with unlimited calls, text messages and high-speed data on Verizon’s 4G LTE and 5G network. That plan is reduced to as little as $25 per line, per month when customers add additional lines to their service, a feature Visible calls “Party Pay.”

In addition to the international calling feature, Visible announced a slew of other perks, including the company’s decision to open up access to Verizon’s 5G network to all phones capable of receiving the signal. Previously, access to Verizon’s 5G network was limited to Visible customers with Apple’s newest iPhones.

Additionally, Visible said it now supports embedded SIM, or eSIM, technology, which allows customers with eSIM-capable phones to switch to and from Visible with just a few taps of their screen and without needing to acquire a new SIM card.

Visible keeps costs low by offering customers a no-frills phone plan primarily through the Internet. The company has no physical locations (Verizon’s stores do not service Visible customers) and operates its customer service lines through chat and social media.
